CHILDREN OF BODOM KEYBOARD PLAYER JANNE WARMAN CONFIRMS "SEPARATE WAYS" DIGITAL SINGLE FOR AUGUST 17TH "09 IN SUPPORT OF NEW SOLO ALBUM "JAPANESE HOSPITALITY" SET FOR AUGUST 24TH "09 RELEASE VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK
CHILDREN OF BODOM keyboard wizard Janne Warman has confirmed "Separate Ways" as the lead digital single from latest studio album "Japanese Hospitality", released under the Warmen banner.
The single, a cover of Journey"s melody-conscious 1983 Top Ten classic (fronted here by Pasi Rantanen of Thunderstone fame), will be available digitally from August 17th. The bonus track with the single will be "Faithful Eyes", previously unreleased in the UK."Japanese Hospitality", set for an August 24th release, comprises of eight original compositions plus two cover versions (the aforementioned "Separate Ways", and "Black Cat", the #1 US single, written and recorded by Janet Jackson).
The album features the core Warmen line-up, supplemented by a host of special guests, including COB guitar star Alexi Laiho - who provides the solo on "Black Cat" - and vocalists Jonna Kosonen ("Black Cat") and Timo Kotipelto ("Eye Of The Storm") of Stratovarius fame.

FINNISH SHREDDERS CONFIRM RELEASE OF NEW COVERS ALBUM, "SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET",FOR SEPTEMBER 21st 2009 VIA SPINEFARM RECORDS UK
CHILDREN OF BODOM, the Finnish five-piece with a burgeoning reputation as one of the world"s premier hard rockin" outfits, will release the "Skeletons In The Closet" album on September 21st 2009 - a 17-track collection of cover versions spanning the group"s decade-plus career.
Some of the covers have appeared as bonus material on hard-to-find single releases or limited edition catalogue re-issues, others are brand new recordings. Indeed, the lead track from the project will be a recently completed version of War Inside My Head, a song originally recorded by Suicidal Tendencies back in 1987.

CHILDREN OF BODOM MAINMAN VOTED "BEST METAL GUITARIST" IN GUITAR WORLD"S 2009 READER"S POLL
ALREADY A front cover artist the rockin" world over, Children Of Bodom vocalist/guitarist Alexi Laiho has been voted "Best Metal Guitarist" by the readers of Guitar World magazine - the Number One guitar mag on the planet with a circulation in excess of 225,000.
According to this US publication, Alexi - who recently launched a new range of signature models with ESP - trounced the competition, beating out such major players as Metallica"s Kirk Hammett and Alex Skolnick from Testament.
Alexi was also recently featured on the cover of Big Cheese magazine.
Children Of Bodom are about to start a major run of US dates with Lamb Of God, As I Lay Dying, Municipal Waste and God Forbid.

Alexi Laiho, currently ranked one of the best guitarists in the world by critically acclaimed magazines, has just unveiled four new signature models by ESP/LTD guitars. The ESP Alexi-Blacky, ESP Alexi-Scythe, LTD Alexi-600-Blacky, and LTD Alexi-600-Scythe will be available from ESP"s network of dealers and international distributors.
The ESP Alexi-Blacky and ESP Alexi-Scythe both feature a neck-thru-body design at 25.5 scale, with a light alder body and maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard. High-end hardware on the models includes Gotoh tuners, an original Floyd Rose bridge, and a single EMG HZ F-H2 pickup. An MM-04 on-off boost switch is also built into the guitar. The Blacky model incorporates a metallic black satin finish with a gloss black stripe and black pearl sawtooth fret marker inlays, while the Scythe model is a white finish with a black pinstripe, and scythe-shaped inlays.
The new LTD versions of the Alexi Laiho Signature Series models offer very similar specifications, only substituting Grover tuners and a 1000 Series Floyd Rose tremolo.
We"ve been very fortunate to have a relationship with a guitarist of Alexi"s caliber for the last six years, says Allen Steelgrave, ESP"s director of marketing and artist relations. As is the case with all ESP and LTD signature series models, the new guitars are based on the artist"s exact specifications, and we"ve worked closely with Alexi to create these updated versions of his main guitar.

Check out the latest/January issue of Terrorizer magazine for a front cover feature on the band. The interview and photos were both done at Bloomsbury Bowling in central London, where the guys were able to indulge their passions for drinking and bowling at one and the same time.
February 9th sees the 2004 DVD EP "Trashed, Lost and Strungout" being granted an official UK release for the very first time. This ten track collection features videos, audio tracks, cover versions, messages, live performances and fly-on-the-wall footage of the five Finns out and about in Helsinki (warning : alcohol is involved!).
Spinefarm Records UK will also be reactivating COB"s 2005 "Are You Dead Yet" release and the band"s "STOCKHOLM KNOCKOUT' live release.
